.:The Path of a Paragon:. Open - Hunt - RE2 Welcome

Some Paragon, at a certain age, have a quest to face. I, Cloverta, am one of them who must face a death-defying journey. My parents had not had a quest picked for me, so I had to pick my own. Not an easy thing to do when you know your choice may be your death.

My Quest is to journey through the Craiss Caverns, to the center of the maze-like labyrinth, and retrieve a rare crystal from deep within the caves. The crystal is very rare and hard to get. I will have to face many dangers to reach it. I must go alone, but any travelers I meet are allowed to journey with me if they please. And so my story begins...

.:The Path of a Paragon:.

Postby jackie125 » 08/03/2011 9:16 AM

Cloverta had journeyed many days to reach the area of the caves. She has been here researching and studying the caves. It's weird, no one has documented the interior of the caves. Everyone who has survived going through the caves seem to think the walls move. There is a small amount of information about the creatures in the caves. Most of them are fairly small. I would love to see this one myself, she says as she turns the screen of the computer towards you.

An Akail was pictured next to a paragraph or two about them. Cloverta had thought they looked kinda' cute. Cute is not generally a word used to describe an Akail, but against Cloverta, Paragon form or not, any argument is a hard one to win. Especially in her paragon form.

Cloverta was heading to the camp in the morning. At the moment, she was in a small house outside of the range of the caves. She needed to stop at the camp for supplies and other things like that. She had her checklist, the things she would need before entering the cave.
CHECKLIST:
Knife/Weapon
Enough food for a month or +
Bag/sack for anything interesting
Shoe/clothes for human form
Walkie-Talkie
Journal

Cloverta, still in human from, got out of bed. She didn't have much time to get to the supply camp. What time is it? She looked over to the clock on the desk. Eight-Thirty. "Two hours..." , she says running to the bathroom,"To get to the supply camp." She quickly brushed her teeth and combed her hair. When she put her clothes on, she realized that her shirt was inside-out. Arhhh... Why does this always happen when I'm in a hurry!?
She rearranged her shirt and bolted around the house gathering her things. "Need to get my toothbrush, toothpaste, brush, utensils, and other clothes." Cloverta grabbed her things from the bathroom, making sure she had them all. She ran to the kitchen, picking up containers with food in them, cups, and empty dishes. She grabbed her suitcase, and ran outside.
Everything she had was packed into two larger bags, Each the size of small garbage bag. She placed them on the ground, walk a few steps back, not wanting to crush the bags, and turned to her Paragon self. She picked up the bags around her front legs. That way, when she was flying they wouldn't fall off. She stretched her wings, and leaped into the sky.

Cloverta's luggage was banging against her legs, but she ignored it. The camp was within her sight-range now. It was but a dot on the horizon, but Cloverta was fully sure that it was the camp. She flattened out her flight path and aimed herself at the camp. She was picking up speed, so even her annoying bags, were stuck under her. Near to the camp now, she flared up her wings to slow herself down, not wanting to destroy half of the small camp.
She had slowed to a few miles an hour, and started towards a field. She dropped into the field as she touched the ground she was running quickly down the field. She slowed down, and walked into the camp. She got quite a few startled glances, from some of the workers. They quickly faded though when she reverted back to her human form. She asked some of the workers, where her tent was. They told her it was the uninhabited one near to the center of the camp. She headed there to drop off some of her things.

Cloverta had put her things in the room, but had not unpacked much. Only her blankets, pillows, toothbrush and paste. There wasn't really any point, she would be leaving in a day or two. She was both excited and scared to finally near the start of her journey. In just a few days, she would go into the caves, and(hopefully) find the rare crystal. It was all so exciting!

That night, Cloverta couldn't sleep. She was way too excited to sleep. She decided to go for a walk, explore the camp a little. She walked around until she found the supply tent. She needed to remember where that was for the next day. She went past the supply tent, to the outskirts of the camp. Most of the tents here were guards, storage, and just empty tents. She continued walking even past the empty tents, to the open fields. The fields were on the far side of the camp. The opposite side as the caves.

She waded out into the fields of grass, and turned into a Paragon. The grass, now much lower to her, was no trouble. She flapped her wings, and took off into the sky. She was careful not to get too close to the tents, as she could easily blow them away. She, now, was tired so she went up quite a ways from the camp and glided slowly down to the center, careful not to flap her wings. She returned to human form, and went back to her tent.

Today is the day Cloverta would venture into the caves. She was very excited. She actually wanted to go into the caves. Most people went in for money, the fame of finding a mystery, or were forced. But no. Cloverta was actually happy and excited to go into the caves. She wanted to. And now she was going to.

She didn't want celebration. She didn't want a party, or a bunch of people to see her her off. She just wanted to go. Cloverta headed towards the gaping mouth of the cave. She walked a little further, into the actual cave and blew a bit of fire onto a torch she had been given. One of the great things about being a Paragon: even in human form you can breathe a little fire. With the torch Cloverta, who can already see fairly well in the dark, could easily have seen to the furthest corners of the cave. She was so enthralled with the cave, she just remembered, her journey had begun...

Cloverta walked calmly through the caves, almost like she was walking though the middle of down-town Medicai City! She didn't care she was in a cave. She could see just as well here as she could in the middle of the day.
Cloverta had stopped to sleep. Not knowing what time it is can be pretty hard on you. She turned back into a Paragon and lay down on the cold rock floor of the cave. When she is a Paragon she can't be cold. Another upside to being a Paragon, warmth.
Cloverta woke up, not necessarily in the morning, because it is always dark in a cave. She continued on her way to find the Crystals. She kept walking, still wanting to see some of the creatures that inhabit the caves.

Cloverta walked silently through the damp, musty caves. She could hear water dripping off the walls, giving the caves an eerie quality. She wasn't worried though, not many of the things here could actually take on a Paragon in a fight. CLINK. What was that? She sneaked over the the side of the cave to investigate. It was a rock, about the size of a watermelon. It looked as though it fell from the ceiling of the cave. It still wasn't normal for rocks to just randomly fall. Something must have bumped it or something. Maybe she would finally get to see some of the wildlife --if you could call it that-- from the caves.

Cloverta wanted to go up and search the roof of the caves, but she had no clue how high it was. She had to take a chance sometime. She placed her bag on the ground, and turned to a Paragon. She lifted off the ground slowly, as to not hit the roof, if it is low. She blew a column of of greenish fire into the dark of the cave. She got a fairly good view of the cave, and probably blinded half of the creatures. Oops...

Cloverta saw the top of the cave, it was still quite a bit higher. She soared through the thick air closer to the top point of the cave. She always made sure she could see her torch. She had put it on the ground with her other things before she started flying. The top of the cave was covered in stalagmites. She figured in was time to keep moving, so she glided back down to the torch. She made sure she was headed the right direction. She didn't want to have to walk all the way back down here.
Cloverta continued on her way, in Paragon form. It was easier to carry her bag this way, and she walked at a faster pace with longer legs. Her wings were folded over her back, with her bag underneath, and her tail was hanging just above the ground.
CLINK! What was that?, she thought, not wanting to alarm any of the creatures. She walked over to the far side of the cave to take a look. It was just a rock. It was about the size of a watermelon. Maybe it fell off the ceiling?

Better watch for falling rocks, Cloverta thought, Don't want to get hit on the head with one of those. She was walking though one of the smaller sections of cave. It was only a few feet above the head of her Paragon form. She had sure not to hit her head on any of the stalagmites.

Cloverta was coming up to a larger cavern. She stepped over the slightly rippled rock where the caves were connected. She looked up and could not see the roof. Though, with the darkness it was hard to see anything. She continued on through the larger cavern, until she came to the opposite wall. Three tunnels. Which one was right? She doubted any of them lead to "certain doom". She decided to go into the first tunnel. It was a dead end right inside of it. It stopped where it started. She was going nowhere with that tunnel, so she then decided to go through the second tunnel. It continued on downward, and once farther in, Cloverta thought she could hear running water. This seemed to be the right choice. She picked up her things and headed down the tunnel.

(Human form)
Cloverta hoped she had made the right choice, going down the center tunnel. She had only because she could hear water through it. She walked towards the sound of falling water, which was steadily getting louder. Then, all of a sudden she slid partway down the tunnel. Her pants were wet, her back was sore, and her shoes were soaked. "Ow...", she mumbled to herself.
She opened her eyes, to see that her feet were resting in a pool of water. A large waterfall was pouring out water from a large hole in the roof. It must have taken a long time for it to erode this much.
The waterfall was sending ripples through the pool. She looked into the pool and saw her reflection, her human reflection. Then the water rippled, and she saw herself as a Paragon. She looked down at her hand, it was still human. How could she see the reflection of herself as a Paragon then?

Cloverta was walking around the pool of brightly shining water. The bright, clear water looked almost like crystal. But, why was it glowing? The water was shining, at some point in the middle of the pool, there was something glowing a bright, luminescent blue light. She contemplated different ways to find the source of the light. One, she could dive/wade into the water. Two, she could fly up over the water fall, and look for the source of the water.
Cloverta turned in to her Paragon self and placed her front feet in the water. It was crisp and cool, but not painfully so. Her green scales refracted the light at a thousand different angles. Specks of blue light covered all but the rushing torrent of the falls. She dove in once she found deep enough water, and found the source of the light.

A small pile, of what looked like glass, or rocks for that matter,  was sitting on the smoothed rock bottom of the pool. The water was only about fifteen feet deep, so getting back to the surface wasn't too difficult. She climbed the water to the surface, and quickly took a breath and plunged back into the bright water. She flicked her tail and launched millions of tiny droplets glistened it the air.

Cloverta kicked her feet, and used her tail as a rudder, for swimming into the depths of the pool. She found the pile of Glass-Rocks.She picked up several hand-fulls, and brought them back to the surface. She placed them on the side of the pool and noticed, they were glowing.

Cloverta separated the pieces of Glass-Rock into sizes. The biggest being bigger then an orange, and the smallest being just about the size of a strawberry. She turned human, which also dried her clothes and hair. She picked up a piece of the Glass-Rock, and started to examine it. From a distance they appear clear but upon closer examining they glow blue.

She held the piece right to her eye, and looked at the glowing blue bits. The blue was swirling like a tempest inside the Glass-Rock. If the Glass-Rock was broken, it would probably release all the energy that was packed into it. It would probably explode.
