I thought it might be neat to share our stories on how we all actually came into finding and joining Evelon. Though, I know a lot of our member base has been here for a long time, so let's also see who really remembers! <3


In my case, it was Spring break and I was temporarily into playing Wajas at the time that I came across a random Fellox adoptable in someone random user's cave, or whatever the profile page on there is called. I thought they looked particularly neat, so of course I had to click on it. When it got to the regular adoptable site, I nosed around through everything and came to realize that there was also a roleplay forum for them linked. I was already interested in roleplaying, as I had started the hobby already on Neopets some time prior (both animal and anthro-y), so a whole roleplay forum sounded like a great experience. I grabbed a few Fellox (and a few other pets), posted my introduction, met some nice users (Moofius joined about a month prior to me, Kyrit and Mojave joined just prior to me, to give you some ideas) and the rest was history.

I've been on Evelon ever since, although there was a temporary hiccup in my activity for a short span of time after some life issues (I would say about six months to a year I wasn't all that active on the forums), but I could never leave Evelon behind. It's like my happy home away from home, no matter what drama or things come up. <3

I was on Subeta for most of middle/high school. While there, I had a habit of collecting adoptables from all over. I had Pokemon and clickables and all kinds of things. There was even a part of the forum where people would find other adoptable sites because, yanno, a pet site itself doesn't have enough things to adopt I guess. Regardless, I saw a pet in one of those threads- I think it was a Serraptor or something- and I fell in love with the art style. I clicked it and grabbed a couple for myself (this was when the Sky Serraptor was freely available because that's what I grabbed) and didn't think it was gonna go much farther than that.

At one point, I was going through the adoptables sites to see which ones were still around (because those things pop up and die like daisies), and I managed to come across the Serraptor again. I think I had hid it away in one of my pets' profiles or something. Anyway, I somehow found the forum through there. Since I was quickly becoming disenchanted with the RP scene on Subeta- all the people were either way better than writing then me or they were just writing short bursts of dialogue with little to no description- I joined up here.

It took me a while to actually get into things, barely did anything for quite a while. I managed to just miss sign-ups for the first war, but I kept up with it for the most part. Been here, for the most part, ever since.

Well, for me it was pretty simple, haha. Zap is a close IRL friend of mine, and we RP a ton on google docs, sometimes with other friends as well. We're actually doing a RP on Evelon with our first real, major OTP ship, so that brings back memories haha. Anyway, she's been on Evelon for awhile, and I think I knew of it vaguely just because she talked about it some. Anyway, at the start of this school year, she was pushing me to join Evelon so we could RP together here. I like sites like FlightRising (though I've ignored my dragons for months, whoops...) where I can design pretty animals to look like my characters, and then breed them to get even more pretty characters. So Evelon, after a long time of getting used to the complicated nature of the site, felt just like the sort of website I'd get into. And now I can't get off. What have you done, Zap xD *shakes head*

I'm one of those folks who got introduced to it through Hidden Crossroads, which was the RP forum for the MML adoptables... which I think dates me back pretty far. XD; I was already on that forum when the Evelon RP section popped up, so I just joined in, I guess. I think I was around when Evelon moved to its own site but I honestly don't remember my early RP years very well. After that, I was here on and off, sometimes with gaps of several years between activity.

I saw a Treasure Taigra in someone's signature on a Pokemon forum I'm no longer really active on, and clicked it out of curiosity. I looked around the site a bit, and then noticed the accompanying RP forum and decided to check it out. After a bit of poking around, I decided I liked it and jumped in.

And then only a few months later we moved to this site. Which is why I'm member number 20 on here. And I'm kind of ridiculously happy about having such an elegant whole number, haha. ha...

During middle school I was really into horses, and I was on every available virtual horse website, and there was a particular one that I don't remember the name of where I had started writing some kind of roleplay description of my stable, or something, on my profile? So I was poking around other profiles for inspiration, and there was someone who just had a bunch of Biolune pets with names under them. I clicked one out of curiosity, poked around the Freewebs site for a bit, and then stumbled onto the forum.

I think the first war had just ended, but I'm not completely sure because I didn't actually join the forum right away, because I was afraid everyone would already have well-established rp groups I couldn't break into [which had happened in one or two other places] and I wasn't sure I understood the rules.

I also never made a proper introduction post, and at first I didn't want to post in open roleplays other people had started because of the above. And as we know I made many, many terrible/embarrassing mistakes, but despite that I stuck around. More or less. This is definitely the pet site I've stayed on the longest, though. It has made it somewhat difficult to adjust to the workings of other sites, heh.

I was on Subeta when I saw my first Evelon pet. I collected a lot of adoptables I found on a free webpage. When I found out Evelon had a roleplay forum (Hidden Crossroads), I joined up right away. That was 8 years ago this Saturday. I actually joined for Evelon, though I stuck with the MML side of it more.

Around a year after that, Evelon started their own forum (this one) with some great ideas. Baal had made me a mod at the time of start up, but I didn't stay with that very long. Since then I'd had short bouts of activity with big gaps in between. Now I'm back again after hearing Crow talk about it, and I plan on sticking around for a while.

Goodlord, I was looking back to my first post to see exactly when I joined. It was so long ago haha and I was just getting started at writing. At the time I was in eighth grade and I was actually just getting into the internet too. I was mostly into pet adoptable sites but the little kid kinds like neopets and webkeinz probably. I read a lot of Warrior cat books and so what I wrote was almost exclusively warrior fan fiction though I didn’t know the term at the time. Somehow I hadn’t ever picked up on what grammar was so, ugh I was soo bad at everything. I wish I still had some of the documents but I deleted them all out of shame xD. Anyways I was wandering around some forum where I was interested in joining the main site but back then most websites had their forums and adopt sites as two different sites. I saw a fenling in someone’s signature and it was the most unique and detailed thing I had seen ever practically. At the time I thought nothing of it and went on my way but over my time exploring different sites I saw a few other Evelon pets that at the time I would have never connected. It was another fenling that caught my attention and I was like “I need to see what this is all about” because I remembered the first time I had seen one.

And then I don’t even think I joined for another long period of time after exploring the site for the first time. I’m writing this and realizing that fenlings haunted me. When I first joined the sight it was because I had forgotten about it and had found a picture of another fenling and remembered it. At that point I was just getting into being brave enough to post any writing online and still it was just warrior fan fiction. I quickly realized I was very far out of my league and just stopped being on Evelon. I also lost the link for Evelon so it was once again forgotten.

Then two years after that... Almost exactly two years actually which is weird. I never actually posted in the hello section after I returned to the site. At the time I guess I was looking to actually escape warriors ‘cause I had outgrown it. I still had no idea what grammar was but I definitely was so bad. Right after that was Christmas and I jumped into having two custom Lucian with a few more to follow though I didn’t get into any serious character making or plots until my horrible and long ‘It Won’t Fade’ story. In which I had a good idea but had no execution and I was going through a hard time so pretty much everything was dark. I really secluded myself into writing and got heavily involved in the site. Since then I’ve been on this site for more hours than is healthy xD.

I, like Sara, was also really into Warriors around the time I found Evelon xD; I was a member of this one Warrior cats forum called StarClan's Mercy where I wrote really horrid fanfiction and just babbled with people about the books. And someone, I don't remember who, had what I -think- was an Albie in their signature. So I clicked it and browsed the adoption sections of the main site and immediately fell in love. It took a bit of courage for me to join but I eventually did :>

I found Evelon while I was looking through the internet in my mid to late junior high years. I think it had something to do with Subeta but I don't remember entirely. I think what happened was I likely got bored of Subeta and went looking for something else then found Evelon listed on some webpage with I think a fellox or something. :l Then I just kinda joined and things happened.

Tal. Frickin Tal. Nagged me to join Evelon. Erry day my freshman or sophmore year of high school. I finally caved when he showed me a drawing of a Rexxel. Kind of drifted away from Evelon for a long-butts time 'cos I am an easily distracted man. Guess who got me to check it out again? HMMM. I wonder.

I've always loved virtual pet sites, so back in the day, I used to play TONS of them. I would hang out on the virtual pet site listings on a couple of websites and try out all the new games whenever they cropped up. There was one I ended up enjoying quite a bit and played for a while called Creature Breeder. (Which, amazingly, still exists! It's at CreatureBreeder.com.) I was browsing the forums one day when somebody made a topic about Evelon pets and then showed off some of them! I was really intrigued, so I checked out the site. I wasn't sure if I wanted to join at first, because I hadn't roleplayed in a while and was used to more... programmed games, I suppose one might say. But I checked out the forums and they seemed fun! ...Too bad it was just as the forums were moving, so they were locked down to new members. XD I hovered around the site and checked it EVERY DAY until the new forums appeared and registration opened. And I've been squatting here ever since. 8|

Well, I was on Magistream some years ago - I was a very active member there for a while.  One day I saw these beautifully drawn animals in the signature of another member - a Zephion, specifically!  I wanted to know the website where I could get such lovely creatures myself.  So I clicked the link and found myself at Evelon's adoptables.  It took me a while to really get into Evelon - into rp'ing, that is.  I had never rp'ed before at the time.  I think I'm gradually getting better at it, though, and I'm gradually getting used to making up characters, instead of just collecting pixel images. (I'm still quite the collector, though!)  Here's hoping to a few more years of story-telling on Evelon!
