I liked the fifth Harry Potter movie. I thought that, for the amount of material they had to slog through and edit out, they kept the important stuff. (And they took out Harry's caps-lock temper tantrums yay!) The woman who played Umbridge was amazing. And the scene at the end, where Harry's being possesed by Voldemort - even if it was different from the book - Harry's monologue was very strong emotionally. (Unlike his sobbing scene at the end of the Goblet movie, but whatever.)

My new strategy for seeing the HP movies is: don't reread the book before you go, and don't expect anything. :P Maybe that's why I liked this one so much.

As for the Harry Potter movies, yeah, I think they butchered them.  I mean, they left out soooo much, and they changed soooo much more.  How come J.K Rowling agreed to that??????  If I ever write abook that becomes a movie, I'd demand to see the script!!!!!!!

As for the Warrior Books, I sort of do hope they become a movie.  Those are good books, and Hollywood should know that if they change too much they can't continue with the series.  Like with Eragon. They changed too much to continue.  You'd think they'd know that, but...well they just didn''t learn.  Shame, shame, Hollywood.  Shame.

They killed Eragon. I'm not going into too many details, but they killed it.

'Tis why I didn't dare go see that dreaded movie...I just love the books, but I knew they were going to butcher it...

I mean, I looked up the rating and all, and it was rated PG! I mean, what the heck is up with that?! In Eragon, tons of people get killed, and cut up, and all sorts of war stuff, so I would expect to at least be rated PG-13....I was just really surprised.

And with Harry Potter, I get too ticked anyways, so I just don't go and see the movies. I've given up on the crummy director. The way they ended the 4th movie was just...blah. Icky icky icky. And it went by so fast...I just love books a lot more than movies. 'Cause Hollywood is crappy...

Shun the non-believer! Shuuuuuunnnnnn!

Shhhhhuuuuuuuuuuuuuuunnnnnnnnnnn-ah!

XD That was fun. ^^

"Caps-Lock temper tantrum" is a good way to put it.

You know what other book-turned-movie I'm ultra worried about? Inkheart. If anything is gonna get ruined, it's gonna be the super-important relationship between Maggie and Mo. I don't think I've ever read any book that had that kind of parent/child dynamic, but I just KNOW the movie will like, minimize Mo, which would be awful. He's one of the main characters, dang it! And yet... *sigh* Also, although it is a minor nitpick, it bugs me that the movie will be made in the US and not in Germany, where it SHOULD be, since the original book was in German and that's where the author lives. Sigh...

I'm so cool (too bad I'm a loser).
I'm so smart (too bad I can't get anything figured out)!
I'm so brave (too bad I'm a baby).
I'm so fly
That's probably why it feels just like I'm falling for the first time!

I'm so green (it's really amazing).
I'm so clean (too bad I can't get all the dirt off of me)!
I'm so sane (It's driving me crazy)!
It's so strange
I can't believe I'm falling for the first time!

I actually like Inkspell more than Inkheart, but yeah, I agree with you.  Mo will, more or less likely, be made a minor character.  It's realy inportant that Meggie and Mo are so close, but they'll down play it.  I bet you that Basta will be in it like, every 3 seconds.  Hollywood loves to up play the bad guy.  ^^;;;  I'm not raving because it's not a movie yet.

There seems to be an aversion in media in general that you can't have kid characters and adult characters in equally prominent roles. Either it's all about the kid or it's all about the grown-up.

You know what's a great book series that tackles this? The Fire Within. It's aimed at children, but the main character is an adult (a 20-year-old college student) and his co-mains are woman in her late 30's and a 12-year-old little girl. And it's all quite well done.

Hmm, up playing Basta might actually be a good thing! xD I think I kind of liked him, though its been a while since I read the books... But I liked Dustfinger better. They had better not get rid of him or down play him!! >.<

I LOVE that book. Really, I can't believe it's for younger kids. I thought it was a bit more mature, at least Icefire and Firestar were. The Fire Within was great though. But, oh man, I HATED the ending, even though I knew it was coming. 9 bongs was all it took... poor conker. But I LOVELOVELOVE! Gadzooks. He's the most awesomest dragon, and since I love to write, I wish he was my muse. It would be great. But my favorite of the trilogy is Icefire. Everything is explained out in it, yet it wasn't totally revealed. GOOD BOOK. I hope it becomes a movie, I'm just hoping they won't butcher it.

And no offence by being a little on the Negative Nancy side, but I don't believe any warriors movies will EVER come out. Even though the books are for 9-12, now being aimed at 7-10(grrrr...), the movie would most likely be PG-13 if they left in all the cool amazing battles, and all the other things that would be inappropriate for children. Because you know that they can't include battles like bloody evil battles, they'll have to like hide it behind the bush, or have it be down-played. I'm going to FLY OF THE HANDLE if they do that. I'd rather have it be PG-13 and be a bit better than see HAPPY LOVING NO FIGHTING CLANS WHO LIVE IN A SUPER-COOL FOREST! *happy giggles*

Oh god, that would just make me want to kill myself. *retches* *stabs happiness* I WANT BATTLE SCENES! MUHAHAHAHA!
About you and me: it's plain to see,
We only ever want to stay inside and watch TV,
Because that's just as good a memory,
You're just good company,
And I am finally accepting that.

Remember the time when we stole the whole day?
And nobody knows it, we took it away,
And it will be forever mine,
And it will be forever yours
Now we own the night, and it can't be undone,
We'll never forget how it feels to be young,
Cos it will be forever mine,
And it will be forever yours.

I haven't read Firestar yet, so shhhhh! ;)

The ending of TFW made me cry soooo bad. I'd totally read David's story though. I wanna read the full version of Snigger and the Nutbeast!

Firestar is a book in a series by Chris D'Lacey. It's about a college student who moves in with a potter and her daughter. The woman makes clay dragons, and she makes ones called "special dragons" for some people that are supposed to have special abilities. David doesn't know if he believes that, but she makes one for him, called Gadzooks, that helps him write.

Inkheart is the first book in a series by Cornelia Funke, and it's about a man named Mo and his daughter Meggie. They can read out loud so magically that they actually bring characters out of their stories into real life, and... well, you'll have to read it to find out more. ;)
