(I went with what little bits of personality could be seen from your posts in the desk area, Draiz. Hope that's how it is supposed to be? Also, because I really couldn't describe her hairstyle well: I kinda thought of a hairstyle like this one. I sadly can't draw and Subeta HQ had no hair like that. D8)Mimi – actually, Miramina, but what kind of name is that? – is a young, 24-years old woman who is really warm-hearted, but also rather shy. If anything, she looks not all that remarkable; she's around 160cm tall and of average weight, maybe leaning a bit more towards the thin side. Her eyes are green and she wears her blond hair almost at shoulder-length, having it curl at the end. She's also shortsighted and wears large, round glasses with a thin, silver rim. Her friends try to make her wear contact lenses, since she also tends to dress rather conservatively, preferring earthy colors of browns and greens and long blouses and skirts and so she ended up being a bit of a wallflower since her youth. However, Mimi really has trouble with contact lenses, being a bit too clumsy to put them into her eyes without accidently hurting herself, and doesn't feel comfortable in more revealing clothes, so she isn't unhappy with what she looks like. In fact, she does like feminine clothes – it's rare to see her in a pair of pants. Part of her tendency to wear long blouses or shirts with some kind of jacket over them comes from the fact that she has freckles on her shoulders and back which are kind of pale unless exposed to the sun and she has been teased about them as a child a bit especially in summer. For work, she wears a bit of makeup in natural colors, matching her clothes, but in her free time, she usually uses none.
Mimi grew up as the only child of a nurse and a teacher living in Aldrect. She was always a rather calm but happy child who preferred to play with dolls instead of running around outside and getting dirty, but she also was no loner and liked having other children over. However, in school, especially the rather active boys scared her a bit with their loud games during the breaks and so she rather kept either to herself or to a few selected friends.
Mimi was a pretty average student who excelled at languages the most. She never was overly talented and while she learned to love books and reading, she preferred romance novels and couldn't bring herself to get really interested in the books she was required to read for school. Sports were always a bit of her weak point, being so short and a bit clumsy, but she still tried her best.
From an early age, Mimi wanted to become a nurse like her mother, maybe even a midwife after a friend of her mother got a small son and often brought him with her when she came over to visit Mimi's parents. Mimi really liked babies and smaller children, finding them cute as a small girl and later appreciating the fact that they weren't rude or teasing like her classmates sometimes were. Because of that, she tried hard to get good grades since studying in Medicai would need a good leaving certificate from school.
Her mother, however, wasn't all that sure that Mimi was cut out for such a job and so, she helped to get her daughter an internship at the hospital she worked at. And indeed, while Mimi loved seeing mothers holding their babies for the first time, the sight of blood made her almost faint and after that, she didn't even dare to help out in the parts of the hospital where the really sick people were, knowing fully well she would probably not only faint there, but also feel so sorry for them that the thought of maybe someone dying would seriously upset her too much.
So when she finished school with pretty average grades which wouldn't even get her into Medicai anyway, she wasn't all that sad anymore. Still, she didn't really know what she wanted to do. She considered working as a nursemaid and was about to look if someone would hire her, but that was when she saw in the newspaper that the Breeding Facility was hiring someone.
Mimi immediately wanted the job – while she never had much experience with Lucain or Paragon since with her parents working so much, especially with the nighttime shifts of her mother, the family never had the time to have a pet, Mimi loved babies of all kinds and the thought of also witnessing love stories was simply amazing to her since her love for romance novels hadn't ceased over the years. And she indeed got lucky; her right amount of modesty and professional and serious wish to work there paired with her love for children and warmhearted attitude impressed the one hiring and she got the job.
Little did she know what that would mean, though – for the first few weeks, nothing really happened and then, suddenly, she got the order to release rooms. More than happy, she announced them – just to suddenly face a hoard of screaming breeders yelling at her, trying to grab a room for their pets. The experience frightened her quite a bit, especially since it came as such a shock, and when other coworkers assured her that it was always like that, she actually thought about quitting. But then, the Lucain and Paragon (and Kuhnas) came in a bit later, sometimes meeting their partner for the first time, sometimes being lifemates already, and that actually made her happy.
It was nice to see how couples formed. Sure, some pairings weren't meant for lifemating and it was always sad when only the mothers delivered the babies and the father was never seen again, at least not by Mimi, but there also were the instances where she saw fathers smiling proudly or nervously pacing up and down in front of her desk while their female partners were delivering. And sometimes, when there were Lucain or Paragon who had human forms and who stayed together, there were a few couples who actually remembered Mimi and her warm smile when she congratulated them to their babies and helped the small families to get ready to leave once the mothers were able to and so, Mimi was sometimes even invited to a few weddings and lifematings. And really, that made more than up for the few minutes of panic she had to face each time when rooms were announced.
That was why Mimi liked it when raffles were announced and the system changed. Now only the nice part of her work remained, really, and she was glad for it, since the Breeding Facility had been closed for quite some time before that and she had missed seeing couples, having only been busy with paperwork for months. But then there had been another reform and now, Mimi was handing out keys and it was a lot like it had been in the beginning...but Mimi continues to tell herself that the people are only yelling because they are passionate about the thought of forming bonds and families. And that helps a bit, really.
Mimi herself would like a child of her own, too, by the way. But she simply hasn't found the right man for that yet and while a baby is a great dream of hers, all the love around her and her romance novels have totally convinced her to wait for the one, true love and that man simply hasn't come to her yet. She has a few confidence issues, knowing that she is rather shy and not super-exceptional looking, but she gets along so well with pretty much everyone else working at the Breeding Facility that she is sure that there's someone out for her as well since she isn't an antisocial person and when she sometimes feels down, her friends keep telling her how loveable she is and she's not someone to mope for long anyway.
